Set up in 2007, the Ogunte Women's Social Leadership Awards aim to encourage and acknowledge women with extraordinary vision, social leadership, responsible development practices, and social responsibility.

They showcase women in social enterprises, campaigns, networks and organisations, who offer innovative and sustainable solutions to pressing social issues.

The awards are organised by Oguntê Ltd, a Social Innovations and Leadership Development company, and will be presented at SHINE09, the Unconference for Social Entrepreneurs, on May 15th 2009, 4pm in London.

The winners will be awarded by Penny Power, CEO and Founder Ecademy, Herta Von Stiegel, Executive chairman of Ariya Capital Group and Bola Olabisi, Managing Director of GWIIN Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network.
