On 25 March 1807 Britain abolished the slave trade. Two hundred years later at least 12 million people worldwide remain in slavery. Through extraordinary photographs and stories photojournalist Pete Pattisson documents the exploitation and resistance of men, women and children in India, Haiti, Ghana, Burma, Ireland and the UK. 3-"Young Visions": looking for profesionnals with enabling and generous skills.

Young Visions, an initiative from Pembroke House, offers innovative Workshops which allow young people the reflective space to explore who they really want to be through creating their own dialogue with Professionals and Undergraduates. This enables them to make meaningful decisions about their future education, and own those decisions for themselves.
In the Workshops, there is no teaching or direct guidance by the adults involved. The young people even decide, where possible, which Professionals they want to meet, what questions they want to ask them, and then lead the journey for themselves.
We had the opportunity to have a great conversation with Young people (13-14 years) from Walworth Upper School and were impressed by the authenticity and the clarity of the questions they asked. It made us reflect on our life journey, our values and why we are doing what we do. A recommendable, fascinating and warm experience.
